Equipment

Practice swimsuit (any one-piece suit) * keeps their meet suit in great shape

Racing swimsuit (our team suits are recommended, but not required; our team colors are green, black, and white)

Goggles (anti-fog goggles that don't leak will be less frustrating for your swimmer)

Fins (they teach proper swim kick technique)

Swim Caps (required for girls and boys with long hair, but recommended for all swimmers; team caps sold on our website)

Towel

Water bottle (recommended to 11 and up groups to maintain hydration during endurance training)

Hand Paddles ***Optional (hand size specific, helps to develop the “pull” and work on upper body strength)

Volunteer Requirements

Without our wonderful volunteers, we would be unable to run a great swimming program. Each family is required to volunteer. You will be asked to sign-up online for the volunteer positions you want to fill for each swim meet. Descriptions for some of the roles can be found under the ‘Volunteer Descriptions’ tab. Online volunteer sign-up occurs before each meet, and an announcement will be made when job sign-ups open.

Each family with a swimmer on the team is required to volunteer during the season.

  • 1 swimmer in 15-18 age group - 10 volunteer points
  • 1 swimmer <15yrs old - 15 volunteer points
  • 2+ swimmers - 20 volunteer points
  • All families - 2 additional points at the Divisional Meet (June )

It is expected that if your family has a swimmer participating in a meet that you will volunteer to work at that meet (even if the minimum requirement has already been met). We cannot run a swim meet without volunteers. If roles are left unfilled, they will be assigned at the Board’s discretion. It will then be your responsibility to fill the role if you cannot work.

Families who do not fulfill their volunteer requirement will be charged $250 at the end of the season.

We can't do it without your help. Thanks for all that you do!

We recognize that some families have legitimate hardships, such as working on Saturdays, being single parents with younger children, having health limitations, or only your teenager will be coming to the meets. If you fall in this category, please email Heather Rodriguez as soon as possible at [email protected], and we will find ways for you to contribute your time to the team.

Many volunteer positions have two shifts. The 1st shift will work from about 8:15-10:15 AM, and the 2nd shift will work from about 10:15 AM - 12:15 PM, depending on how fast the meet is running.

*Note: If you only have a swimmer in the 6 and under group, you can go home after the 1st shift since they have no races in the 2nd shift.
